Little Edie Bonnet
This is a vintage-inspired bonnet pattern worked up on an aran weight yarn(s) in stockinette and 2x2 rib. It’s designed to fit loosely and comfortably around the face, and to either tie in a bow under the chin or be wrapped around the neck like a scarf.
You will work the back panel of the bonnet first, working in stockinette then decreasing to shape the crown. Then you’ll pick up stitches all around the back piece to knit the main body of the bonnet, working in stockinette then finishing with 5cm of ribbing. Lastly, you’ll work the bottom ribbing and ribbons of the bonnet.
This pattern is suitable for advanced beginners and intermediate knitters.
